Skin Hydration
Skin hydration refers to the water content of your skin.
Skin hydration is important to maintain skin health—it makes skin more flexible and adaptable to change; it creates a stronger skin barrier; it enables the skin to better regrowth and repair itself; and it makes the skin less prone to inflammation and irritation.
Hydration is distinct from moisturization, which refers to the use of products to prevent water loss from the skin. But if there is inadequate skin hydration with which to begin, no amount of moisturization will help the condition of your skin.
